This page is for students entering the 7th and 8th grades wanting to be part of our summer volunteer team in 2026.
What to expect:
This program will accept 4-6 student leaders entering 7th Grade and 4-6 student leaders entering the 8th Grade. Participation on last’s years leadership team does not guarantee placement on this years team.
If selected for this leadership opportunity you will be expected to attend our ‘Ohana Leadership training retreat planed for May 15-17th (Planned location is Kalopa if they complete renovations) and volunteer along side a lead coach in different areas on the camp field at least 15 - 6 hour camp days over the June 1-July 31st summer.
Our leadership retreat is 48 hours of solid researched leadership skills training, team building and learning how we run our camps over the summer.
Our leadership program is a unique opportunity for 7th and 8th graders to be given age appropriate responsibility helping with our camps designed for 4 - 11 year olds.
This is just an application and admission to the program will be decided by a group of staff leadership to make sure we have a diverse set of leaders able and willing to help in all areas of camp. Unfortunately, we are not able to accept all applicants into the program We will notify you via email around mid March if you are selected or are not selected so you can plan your summer accordingly.
You will be required to have a non-relative teacher, coach, extra-curricular leader complete the reference form within 7 days of your application - If you are a returning leader, you may ask to have an ‘Ohana Staff who directly supervised you complete the form. This summer we'll have camps for - Leaders generally rotate through and experience helping in most camps with the majority of their time in the areas of their own interest :
Sports K-6th Graders - Martial Arts, Spartan, Mountaineering/Adventure Racing, Soccer, Volleyball, General fun Sports and Training Games
Themed Pre-School
STEAM 2nd-5th graders
Art Studio 2nd-8th graders
Junior Creator Art/Crafts Camps 1st-4th graders
Dance, Cheer and Theatre/Acting Camps K-6th Graders
